In His Element: $iah (Itztwin) focused in the studio, shaping sound with precision and purpose.

Let’s kick it off—what’s the story behind the name “ Itztwin”?
Bro I hate that name with a passion… (laughs) It was supposed to be Twin, but of course, that was taken. I said, “aww fuck, let’s do Itztwin.” First mistake of my life. When I blow up and this resurfaces, I’ll rage. When I hear it I’m like, “who tf is this nigga?” Now, SIAH is so valid- it is what i prefer.
How has your experience been adjusting to the music scene and culture in Arizona?
Im orignially from Seattle, and I do appreciate arizona but I’ve never been ina city that has so much ego- here no one truly fucks with you for you. Like any major city, If there is no benefit no one will talk to you. My mom moved out here for better job opportunities and I came along. You try to figure out where you fit into this world. You don’t want to do to much but you don’t want to do to little. I Go day by day trying to enjoy life while I can.
Your mom and your brother sound like big pillars of support. How does your family fuel your drive?
It makes you want to do better. My mom went out of her way to support me. She knows this is not an easy task and that not everyone makes it. She has so much belief in me—it makes me want to keep going, so I can’t stop. She loves the song of the summer, so I don’t ever want to disappoint. Me and my brother grew to be best friends (despite any differences), and now he just wants to see me accomplish my dreams. I appreciate that.
You mention God—what role does spirituality play in your life?
God, I have not tried to incorporate him into my music yet- and I should. Realistically, I thank him outside of my music. My music is just an interpretation of my feeling in that moment in time. Other than that I just be chilling.
Let’s talk Arizona. One of your reels goes viral, and suddenly you’re headlining. What was that shift like for you?
One of my reels went viral. AzundergroundScene found me- he asked if I wanted to headline for my secound show in Arizona. I really wanted to see the difference in atmosphere compared to my previous performances in Dallas.
You’ve got a grip on the TikTok game—how important is content in getting your sound out there?
I saw other artists blowing up off of short form content. We are in a heavy social media arc. You don’t even have to show your face anymore. You can generate a clip and slap your song on it that fits the vibe and it will generate so many views. At the time, pedophile catchers had crazy clips so i made that my niche, I saw no one else using these clips and adding their own music over it- for me it blew up a few of my songs. (Laughs) most notably Luka Donacic. It is one of my least favorite songs. The songs I most appreciate are from my Internal EP
Let’s talk Internal EP. What made that project different emotionally and creatively?
That EP was genuinely a recap of last years summer. It was a emotional rollercoaster- it went from being really good to really bad. All these songs were made during that time. I hope people can relate and Just sit there and vibe.
What’s a misconception people have about you?
I’m not just a goofy fuck, I’m (pauses) “intelegente” (laughs) when I want to be. (Sighs) I know the world will like me more when they meet me and talk to me versus just listening to my music. Judging me off my music is one thing. I’m a genuine person.
How do you start crafting a song? What makes you instantly want to rap on a beat?
[laughs] Man, I just find a vibe and a nice hook. [pauses] When I start a song, I have a vision, and I’m trying my best to complete that vision. If I can’t do that, I’ll scrap it—simple as that.[laughs] Bro, the beat has to be so good I just say, “fuck everything, I need to rap on that shit right now.” [pauses] Then you hop on that beat and bring that vision out. Once you do, you sit back and wipe a tear off your face like, “damn, that’s my child right there.” It may be ugly, but lowkey, that nigga may be pulling some bitches.
Who’s been instrumental in bringing your vision to life?
As far as my day ones- Taliban, Die4racks, Bt, 5kJay, and Quin2x. For these producers and studios—definitely Dewzy. He was the first guy to really help me be more professional and kinda taught me how to mix a little bit too. I met him almost two years ago. He is so good at his fucking job.
If you could go on tour with five artists, dead or alive, who’s making the lineup?
Michael Jackson—nigga, I would be T’d up in that bitch. Then Playboi Carti 2017 era. Next, I don’t know if anyone remembers this, but the Arizona party that XXXTentacion had and jumped off the stairs—I wish I was there for that. Lastly, Uzi during the pandemic during the takeovers.
What do you want to achieve in life?
I really just want to engage with my fans. I die-hard care about them and want to hang out with all of them, but who knows how many that is.
Before we close out, drop that final word for the people. What’s on your heart right now?
“Aye, if you don’t fuck with me, just stop playing with your Gert.” In all seriousness, I genuinely hope we can look back on this interview and see that we are way higher than we used to be. Have a blessed life—hopefully, you’ll see me on stage.
Siah (Itztwin) doesn’t just rap—he reflects. From viral moments to deep cuts, from studio sessions on his phone to live shows, his journey is marked by honesty and innovation.
